"Born in the foothill of Cordillera de Talamanca, extended throughout the Jiménez canyon, and surrounded by the picturesque Tucurrique and Pejibaye towns is the beautiful Pejibaye river, one of the most important natural areas in this region due to its crystalline water and pristine rain forest. It is excellent for rafting as people of any age can enjoy comfortably by mixing adrenaline with beautiful landscape. The tour begins at your hotel around 6:00am when your guide will pick you up anywhere you are within the vicinity of San Jose, and head strait to turrialba and enjoy some very scenic views of Costa Rica, One we arrive at la cocina de Betty be prepared for a delicious, and authentic breakfast. After breakfast we continue to Pejibaye where our rver adventure will begin. At around 9:30 a.m. we meet the rest of the team in Taus, the town where raft guides and kayakers deliver life jackets, helmets and paddles. They will be waiting for you enthusiastically to offer a day full of emotions through the water of this wonderful river. After your guide has given a safety talk, and you feel fully prepared in the boat, your adventure of a lifetime will begin! This section of the Pejibaye river has class II and III level rapids, ideal for nature lovers, adventurers, and family joy. During the two hour journey you can admire a great variety of birds such as: toucans, herons and cormorants, as well as a delicious tropical fruit snack, and a swim in the river if you so desire. Once back on dry land, you will have a chance to get comfortable, and change into dry clothes before the short 25 minute ride back to la cocina de Betty where a delicious lunch awaits you! After lunch it will sadly be time to bid fairwell to your beloved river guides and return to your starting point.
